- The accommodations at Rarotonga Beach
Bungalows -- on Rarotonga’s spectacular southern coast--sit on a wide,
sandy beach. The turquoise lagoon and the coral gardens here in front
our beachside accommodations offer some of the best snorkeling in the
Cook Islands. Part of the reason, besides the natural wide lagoon and
overhead depth, lies in the fact that there is a marine wildlife fish
reserve here--- called a RAUI. Since no spears or hooks are allowed in
the RAUI, the colorful, tropical reef fish are big and numerous. Fish
feeding is possible, especially in the mornings, at the lagoon edge in
from of the deluxe beachfront bungalows.
- Each of the five (5) cozy Cook Island
bungalow accommodations is a large “ngutu’are(home away from home)
–with 65 square meters/700 square feet of tropical living space. These
luxurious bungalow accommodations were conceptualized and built in
‘island style’. Thus, capturing the Polynesian bungalow “mana”(feeling),
each unit is elevated off the ground to allow cool breezes to
circulate under the tile floor. The “mana” extends also to the
accommodations exterior roofs that are lined with coconut thatch, the
interior ceilings covered with island cloth, and the woven bamboo
inside walls that offer a charm of yesteryear. Exotic wood furniture
was custom designed and crafted to reflect old style island charm.
Each accommodation’s interior also features framed native paintings,
colorful fish tile art, and an extensive collection of outrigger canoe
paddles.
- Areca palms and white sand surround all
these lovely beachfront accommodations.
- These luxurious beach accommodations
also offer COMPLIMENTARY use of: kayaks, snorkeling gear, sun lounges,
laundry facilities, guest library and various table games in the
lounge, email access during morning office hours - 8am - 12 noon, vehicular parking, and romantic strolls along the unspoilt
beach.
- An additional bonus for all clients--
included in the rate at this ‘mini resort’ accommodation--- is daily
Tropical Breakfast(juice, fruit, cereal, cheese, toast, coffee-tea)
served buffet style, in the Totara Lounge, from 8-11 am.
- A small, superb restaurant—The Paw Paw
Patch Restaurant—enjoys a big reputation for serving gourmet dinners
and hot breakfasts. Its location right next door –50 feet away--to our
first class accommodation is like having our own’ in house’ food and
beverage operation.
- Complimentary
email service is provided in the office from 9 am-12 noon
— Monday to
Friday.
- Rarotonga Beach Bungalows is only one of
a few in all the Cook Islands accommodations to offer full bungalow
maid service-- 7 days a week. However, please note that this being a
small accommodation with limited employees, bungalow maid service is
provided only between 9 am – 1 pm daily.
- Many other activities—such as cross
island nature walks with PA, boat cruises, deep sea fishing, scuba
diving, jeep safaris, black pearl shopping, and farmer’s market
etc.—are easily programmed from our beach accommodations.
- Comfortable and quiet secluded beach
living is the philosophy behind the design of these tropical beach
accommodations. Sandy feet, wet bums, and cool drinks are the norm for
the large, wide covered decks at this beachside ‘mini resort-hotel’.
Oceanside living here means kicking back on the cool deck and enjoying
a good book--- or gazing at the ever-changing tints and hues of blue
in the lagoon. Hard to beat this modern beach living in a laid back
tropical village atmosphere.
